About Aurolab

Aurolab Yoga is essentially experiential with an emphasis on process and group dynamics. It articulates around the western concepts of evolution and the perennial Yogic experience of a unified consciousness supporting all existence as put forward by Sri Aurobindo (The Synthesis of Yoga). The concept is flexible and inclusive and well adapted to contemporary needs.

Our intention is to offer an interactive training where each student is encouraged to reflect on the teachings and evaluate the impact they have on their practice and on their everyday life. Our emphasis is on process rather than performance and with the group’s support we create a safe space for individuals to understand and verbalise their personal journey. Freedom to make choices and develop one’s practice in resonance with one’s deeper nature is essential to us as we believe that techniques are valid only if they provide guidance to new perceptions and open new possibilities of expression, thus defining innovative ways of embodying the practice.

Aurolab is a growing force in the world of Yoga with teachers displaying an excellent level of expertise and dedication. The first group with the participation of Nada Yogin Tanya Syed, finished their training in June 2004, the second group with Angelika Grohmann completed and received diplomas in October 2006. Aurolab Ireland with Gabi Gillessen started in January 2005. A post-graduate project takes place in Auroville, India approximately every two years with Sraddhalu Ranade, Joy Chowdhury, Kanchana Natarajan and Tanya Syed.

Sama recently started a further project at her home in South East London. (see Aurolab teaching courses or contact Sama.

Aurolab is a member of the IYN, Independent Yoga Teacher Training Providers Network, UK and affiliated to The Yoga Register and it's 500 hour course.
